Want a Higher Resolution Lepton? Check Out Lepton 3.
When it comes to resolution, more is better. FLIR’s new Lepton 3 packs a 4x increase in thermal resolution – that’s a full 160x120 resolution – into the same small package as earlier Lepton variants. The revolutionary Lepton 3 is the first complete longwave infrared (LWIR) thermal camera with that resolution that is small enough to be used in a smartphone. The new higher resolution Lepton 3 gives users even better image detail in a powerful, compact, lightweight package for even greater utility in commercial applications.
A 160x120 resolution LWIR camera solution that is smaller than a dime, the new Lepton brings high quality thermal vision to any mobile device, and is ten times less expensive than a traditional IR camera. Using a focal plane array of 160x120 active pixels, Lepton 3 easily integrates into native mobile devices and other electronics as an IR sensor or thermal imager.
Lepton 3 has been designed for easy integration into third party products, such as smartphones, tablets, diagnostic tools, automobiles, toys, building controls, process equipment, security systems, machine vision systems, and advanced gaming devices. OEMs around the world can benefit from the latest Lepton core, which generates high-quality, fully-processed thermal images through common standard interfaces.
Lepton 3 utilizes multiple proprietary technologies, including wafer level detector packaging, wafer level micro-optics, and a custom integrated circuit that supports all camera functions on a single integrated low power chip. As seen in the FLIR ONEsmartphone attachment, the new Lepton 3 is fully compatible with FLIR's patented Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging technology, or MSX®, which significantly enhances the thermal image fidelity with data from a visible-light sensor.
The new Lepton 3 is available through FLIR distributors like Digi-Key, Avnet, and Future Electronics. To learn more about FLIR Lepton, and connect with Lepton distributors, visit www.flir.com/cores/lepton.
